Ghost Town
Many things intrigue me about the past. Mainly disasters like the Titanic, Hindenburg, the Twin Towers (9/11) and of course Chernobyl.

Star Wars Galaxies
Ah yes..
Released quite a while back now but to little interest to me; I've avoided it purely because of Neocron.
However my brother has been playing it and recently showed me around his online town and demonstrated how the game has progressed. Within 10 minutes I knew I wanted it. A year ago he showed me the same thing but it looked and sounded and from what I saw, played like a game missing everything Star Wars is.
Now that's changed and I have it (I ordered it that very day!). I'm still very much a n00b but enjoying the new challenge of getting things wrong and being killed by tiny creatures... all good fun!
This isn't to say I've given up on Neocron but for the moment I'm giving it a rest - DoY is out in the next couple of months and I want to start fresh in that new universe (because I think it will be very new).
Have I got time in my life for both? Hell no.. but I'll do it anyway! Raaaaa

A week on blog
I really haven't had the time this week to blog. Not really been in the mood to do it either to be honest - but that is no excuse!
In fact I had meant to blog on Tuesday morning after seeing Smallville Monday night. It was a very interesting (read: weird) episode. I think it was playing on the success of "The Fast and Furious" films and the "recent" trend to street race.
Of course street racing has been going on since man was able to pilot wheeled vehicles but only recently has it gotten real (big screen) media attention. Anyhoo - it was clearly a mish-mash episode. The cars were powered by the obligatory "NOS" but with extra special kryptonite to make them even quicker. However, the blokey running it (never seen before of course) ran his "shop" out of a barn with lots of banners in it.... hmmm. Chuck in a Yank tank and a few Jap mobiles and there you have it - instant F&F.
I didn't buy it.
Sillier still was the final "race" that took each car several minutes to get to 100mph. I love the whole "97, 98..." thing where the cars never quite get there...
The rest of the week so far hasn't been anything special really. Spent most of the evenings with Gemma (home for Easter) and in the gym (no surprise there then!).
Oh.. my next blog will be on SWG. SWG? You'll see in a few sentences!

British Summer Time

But we have "Sprung forward" by one hour in good old Blighty and now it's Spring. So that means April showers and more bad weather. Thankfully that'll be followed by rain and more bad weather (we call it Summer). Of course the eventuality is that Autumn and Winter must follow Summer so that must mean rain and bad weather.
If I were to read in to that I'd seem cynical. But I won't.

A fan of the 7th Guest?
If, like me, you are a fan and enjoyed that very game almost 11 years ago (this month!) then the following article may be of interest.
It's the very interesting story of the rise and fall of Trilobyte - the company behind 7th Guest. Most interesting to me were the pictures of the house Stauf's mansion was based on and the (only) shot of 7th Guest 3. I can only imagine what the third game would have been like!
I've recently gotten back in to the game (with the help of a newly purchased CD-i) and am enjoying the puzzles, awful acting and wonderfully upbeat music. They certainly don't make them like they used to!

James Gordon, says the Hollywood Reporter. Oldman is the newest member to join the ever-expanding Caped Crusader cast. Also on board are Michael Caine as Alfred, Liam Neeson as Bruce Wayne's mentor Ducard, Morgan Freeman as businessman Lucius Fox, Ken Watanabe as villain Ra's Al Ghul, and Katie Holmes as Rachel, a childhood friend of Wayne's. The Christopher Nolan-directed flick, which is currently filming in Iceland, is expected to hit screens in the summer of 2005.

LHD/RHD
I have recently started driving a RHD car again.. I live in the UK and 99% of cars here are RHD. That's simply because we drive on the left hand side of the road (so RHD puts you in the middle of the road).
I cannot stand it. Really.
I've been driving LHD for a few years now in various guises. Be it the DeLorean or my 911 or a friends Yank Tank. I've gotten used to it and I now thoroughly enjoy the experience. Sure it has it's "moments" (car parks for instance) but generally it's great fun and, quite different from the norm.
But since the 911 was requiring it's own en-route petrol tanker I've had to revert to a "cheap" car to get to work in (and pretty much everything else unfortunately). It's RHD and it's not fun.
There's nothing wrong with the car - my Calibra Turbo is also RHD and a lovely car - but it's not the same.
Probably just me being weird I suspect.

It's cold outside...
It's cold (incredibly) and dark. Only one light is on - other than this monitor of course. The TV blaring out behind me. Star Trek VI - The.... UndiscoveredCountry (as Kirk would put it) is on Sci-FI at the moment; arguably one of the greatest Trek movies ever made (beyond "KAHNNNNN!!!!!" of course).
I should really be in bed but I cannot bring myself to lock up and get ready for bed... but my eyelids bear heavy on my eyes and there is no longer any coffee in the pot.
These dark nights are kinda cool. I can be snug inside with the entire electronic world right in front of me. It's very busy yet unbelievably lonely. Like spreading out the UK's population across the entire globe. I can surf without anyone's knowledge and be as interactive and busy as anyone else online at the same time.
I'm sure there is a double meaning in the internet. Something profound I just haven't worked out yet.
Captain Scott is none too pleased. His engines are working perfectly - but Starfleet are being told otherwise.
There is a picture here (well, 2 actually) of myself and Gemma. We're both smiling. I look like I've just been told to "smile". Gemma has one of those natural glowing smiles... it's very attractive. I just look an idiot. But that's my purpose - it makes her look even better I suppose.
Kirk is fighting a rather large alien. His "knee" is slightly more sensitive than mine.
I wonder. I wonder whether inanimate objects have thoughts. Nah. Wouldn't that be weird though? I bet my cars would be bitching at how cold it is outside. I am. I think - and have been told as much - that I shouldn't be allowed to sit and think. My brain does some (in my eyes, wonderful) strange things when left to it's own devices. I wonder about wondering. I try to unravel the things I cannot even comprehend. It's fun.

I think - and have been told as much - that I shouldn't be allowed to sit and think. My brain does some (in my eyes, wonderful) strange things when left to it's own devices. I wonder about wondering. I try to unravel the things I cannot even comprehend. It's fun.

My first anniversary!
In a little under 90 minutes I will have been seeing my wonderful Gemma for 1 year. A whole year!
I'm particularly chuffed as I couldn't have wished for anyone as special if I tried.
Here's to the next year - may it be even better than the last (and I have a feeling it will be!)

Can't we all just.....getalong?
I love my forums. I spend more time posting on them than I do using spoken word. I love 'em.
Which is why it pains me to see ClubCalibra being divided the way it is.

I've heard of rice but this is crazy...
Take a Honda - spend a few thousand and you have "rice". It's a US term for a heavily modified car - and not a nice term. My Calibra Turbo would likely have earned that title with it's spoiler (now deceased).
But this is rice on another level!
