GTR Owners Club get up close and personal to the new GTR.
Filmed by Scott M, you can see that there are still covered up areas of the car, suggesting possible internal marketing conflicts with regards to how the headlights should look.

It's all about...me

The post below didn't appear until now - I don't know why but Blogger was being particularly painful and simply wouldn't play ball. So I gave up. In fact it's being playing up since the Beta went Final. Probably the setup with my site.

Anyway - Billing is over and the weather was superb for us. Many a lobster onsite and the car got a lot of attention. Hopefully pictures will be here soon :)

Speaking of which - the Monaro now has her exhaust, ripshifter and road response pac all fitted. Goes and handles like it should have from the factory. Sounds faaaaantastic! I may record it in fact as it's so darn wonderful :D

Yes, I know!

Yeah I stopped blogging. Sorry.

There are a couple of reasons behind it - one, I've been busy. Yup, heard that before eh? Well I'm working all hours and when I do have free time, I tend to spend it away from the computer. :P
Two - I'm on facebook. Okay, yeah, blah blah - but try it. It's kinda cool - easy to use and keeps people in touch. I certainly enjoy it :)

Here's me

What else? Um, just back from Barcelona - pics over on FB. (so sign up). Might even get round to sticking them here too one day.

The Monaro is off on Wednesday for her exhaust - so really looking forward to Billing this weekend ;)

More soon!

Heroes

So, you know about Heroes, right? Well if you don't then I would seriously consider finding out. It's a very new take on the whole 'super hero' theme without there really being any stereotypical heroes to speak of. It's clever, and at the same time fresh.
If you can't see it where you live, the DVD set is out in August, with a second series following in September.
Of course, you can download the episodes via your favourite P2P or even watch it live (I think only in the US via NBC - but I've found it elsewhere streaming).
Give it a go.

Go on. :)

VW Iroc on the skid pan...

Odd to see a concept doing such things, but it proves it's close to production.

Video: VW Iroc concept takes to the skid pan

VW gives us a glimpse at the performance potential of its upcoming Scirocco hatch with this video of the Iroc concept car running through its paces out on the skid pan. The Iroc was one of the hottest cars displayed last year so let’s pray developers stick to the concept’s sleek lines. Our American fans will be glad to know that a plan to bring the Scirocco to the U.S. is still under consideration and not cancelled as previously reported.

GM resumes RWD programme

As long as my Camaro is safe...

GM to resume development of RWD large cars

2006_Chevrolet_Camaro_Concept_2_lg_1.jpg

It appears that General Motors may resume development of a range of RWD large cars after plans were put on hold last month following fears that the Bush administration would raise corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standards. The original porposal was to raise it by 4% a year, meaning fleets would have to average 34mpg by 2017 – 30% higher than today’s levels.

The upcoming Camaro coupe due to hit showrooms in 2009 is safe, as is the recently revealed Pontiac G8 sedan, which will go on sale next year. New models rumoured to be in the pipeline that any changes will effect include the next generation versions of the Chevrolet Impala, Pontiac GTO as well as several new Cadillac models.

Why men don't want to get married...

I haven't read it all, but head over to http://www.thesuperjabs.com/why-men-dont-want-to-get-married/ for the full article...

I see it all around me. Miserable, unhappy people who didn’t fall victim to anything but their own poor stereotypes and unreal expectations in others. The one thing though they all have in common is they took the plunge…. and got married.

Is white the new black?

I like black cars. I always have, and I've owned a good few. The Monaro proudly (hiding) outside my house is Phantom black (pretty black if you ask me) and although it's a complete pig to keep clean, I love it. I like other colours too - red (the Citroen is quite fetching and almost wipe-clean) and a nice blue goes a long way.
However, white is not a colour that I'm particularly taken with. It's just so '70s. Beyond that, with the weather we enjoy it's permenatly dirty (in my mind) and the sun doesn't shine enough to get that colour (or lack of) glowing.

But this week I've seen that colour about more than usual. Police cars are going silver now (helps resale) so car manufacturers can try selling the colour as attractive once more. I still remember Porsche (911), Ferrari (Testarossa) and Lamborghini (Countach) all marketing their super cars in white and Porsche are now at it again, as are Lamborhini. Ferrari - not so much.

This very morning I saw a new(ish) BMW M3 in white - and it really suited the car. Odd. The 911 GT3 looks fantastic in white and I'd certainly drive a Murcielago in gleaming white any day of the week. Or an RS4. Or a Monaro. Hmm...

Things it takes most of us 50 years to learn

1. The badness of a movie is directly proportional to the number of helicopters in it.

2. You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight-saving time.

3. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

4. The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above-average drivers.

5. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is: age 11.

6. There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

7. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

8. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be "meetings."

9. The main accomplishment of almost all organized protests is to annoy people who are not in them.

10. If there really is a God who created the entire universe with all of its glories, and he decides to deliver a message to humanity, he will NOT use as his messenger a person on cable TV with a bad hairstyle or in some cases, really bad make-up too.

11. You should not confuse your career with your life.

12. A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter/janitor, is not a nice person.

13. No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously.

14. When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is crazy.

15. Your true friends love you, anyway.

16. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
